In our Human Performance Laboratory we use evaluation and testing methods to accurately measure your physiology. Using this information we will help you design a training program to specifically enhance your performance. We perform functional assessments to look for imbalances and weakness, as well as, performance testing that includes:
- VO2 and VCO2 Testing to evaluate your maximum aerobic and anaerobic threshold. Maximum aerobic is a measure of how much oxygen your body can process. Anaerobic threshold is a point where you are working harder than your aerobic system can keep up with – this causes lactate to accumulate faster than it can be cleared - tiring you out quicker. Enabling you to determine your best workout for your particular fitness goal from weight loss to improving your cardiovascular health.
- Blood Lactate Testing to test lactate levels in your aerobic and anaerobic metabolism and then judge the effectiveness of your training by observing changes in these values.
- Sub-Maximal Fitness Test to measure your metabolism while you train, thus identifying the number of calories that you burn during exercise. Enabling you to eat a diet that supports your fitness goals.
- Resting Metabolic Rate Test to determine how many calories you burn at rest allowing you to accurately determine how many calories you can consume through the day.
- Fat and Carbohydrate Utilization Assessment to determine how well you metabolize carbohydrates verse fats. Enabling you to include the best foods in your diet for your fitness goals.
